Students
matter a lot to us at Christchurch and well over 250 students
join us week by week at our different meetings. We welcome students
who want to know how to live for Jesus as well as many others
who have big questions about Christianity.
Sunday@Five and Sunday@Seven
Our 5pm and 7pm services run during term time, beginning on the 20th April. We now
meet in the Town Hall, which is in the Market Square at the centre of Durham, and
Student Supper will be served after the 5pm meeting for those at either service.
All are warmly welcome to join us for After 8s (pizza, snacks and drinks) which
will be in the Bailey Rooms after the 7pm meeting.
FOCUS
Focus is our midweek student meeting on Thursday evenings. We meet at the Town Hall,
in the Market Square, at 7pm for Bible study and a talk. Do join us for food beforehand,
which is served at 6.15pm in the Bailey Rooms on Saddler Street. Do come along and join us, or contact the church
office,office@christchurchdurham.org,
for further details.
Christianity
Explored
Christianity Explored is a six week course for anyone wanting to investigate Christianity. No question is too simple or too hostile. We run courses each term. For details of this term's course please pick up info on the Welcome Desk at Christchurch or contact Andy Palmer on

Conference
At the beginning of every Easter holiday we hold our Student Conference - MYC. MYC is a great way to finish off Epiphany term, in the Lake District hearing great teaching. This year's topic is Truth and Tolerance and there will be a range of seminars on living for Jesus at University. There are two conferences - 'A' runs from 14th March-17th March, 'B' runs from 17th March – 21st March.
9:38
The Bible talks of Jesus looking at crowds "harassed and
helpless" with no one to tell them the great news of salvation.
Filled with compassion, in Matthew 9:38, he calls his disciples
to "pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out
labourers into his harvest".
In response to that prayer each term we have a lunch in the
Bailey Rooms on Saddler Street, after the Sunday meeting, where
there is a talk to help us think about issues such as:
Why we need full-time Bible teachers
Who should do it
What bible teaching ministry looks like in a variety of settings
How I know if I should teach the Bible full-time
What the next step for me might be
What sort of training is available |
