FOCUS

FOCUS is our small group Bible study groups for students. We strongly encourage every member of our church family to join a small group where they can encourage and care for one another in the Christian life. Our aim at FOCUS is to be changed by God's Word and to get to know other Christian students that we might be equipped to live for Jesus at university. This year at FOCUS we are studying the book of Mark.
We meet on Thursday evenings during term times in the Town Hall at 7pm. A typical evening at FOCUS is as follows...
6:15pm - enjoy a tasty meal together
7pm - Bible studies begin in small groups. Each small group has two leaders, and you will be allocated to a group in which you can care for one another throughout the year and encourage one another in the Christian life.
8pm - A thematic talk from the Bible from our senior Minister, Tony Jones, on any area of life such as sin, evangelism, the work of the Holy Spirit, money etc. After the talk there is plenty of time to ask questions about what's just been said.
9pm - the evening closes.
I've found FOCUS a really great chance to study certain areas of the Bible in great detail and look closely at Jesus' life and the applications it has for us. It was also a great chance in first year to meet a few other guys and get to know them really well as we met each week to look at the Bible, and the friends I've made through FOCUS are probably some of the closest friends I have at church. Alec Cobbett, 3rd year student.
If you would like to find out more information, our student workers Sam Dickinson and Amy Soullier would be more than happy to speak to you.
