The School of Christian Ministry

The School of Christian Ministry (S.O.C.M) is a course run by Christchurch Durham aiming to train Christchurch students in a wide range of ministry skills, equipping them for the Durham harvest field and beyond. Each week at S.O.C.M. Tony will be training us in various aspects of Christian Discipleship including:
- What is Ministry?
- Welcoming Newcomers to Church
- 1-to-1 Ministry
- Reading the Bible with a Non-Christian
- First Contact Evangelism
- Running a Dialogue Supper
- How to run a CE Course
- Speaking at Evangelistic Events
...as well as many other aspects of Christian Ministry.
The course helps with the principles, as well as giving hands-on opportunities with feedback. Each member of S.O.C.M is part of a ministry team under the supervision of a ‘Ministry Coach' to help with their training.
S.O.C.M. meets on a Wednesday evening from 5-6:00pm in the Bailey Rooms. Please contact the Church Office for more information.
