Children

One of our key aims at Christchurch is to support parents effectively in raising their children to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ  and the groups we offer are all run with that aim in mind.

Sundays - During 10am Church

We normally start our 10am church meeting all together with a children's slot and song before the children leave for various groups.

Creche

A fully supervised creche for children under 2 runs alongside our morning church meeting.  There are loads of toys and a separate baby corner.  There are songs and stories for the older children.  Nursing mothers are more than welcome to stay and feed their children.

Children's Church

2 1/2  - 3 year olds are welcome in Scramblers where we have fun learning about God together; we usually read a Bible story, play some games, do a craft, and have some free-play time.

Climbers is our group for ages 3-5 year olds, Adventurers is for school years 1-2, and Explorers for school years 3-6.  Pathfinders is for school years 7-9.  Each group is looked after by leaders and they look at the Bible in a child-friendly and relevant way. We usually end our group times with a craft or activity that the children can take home that will be linked to the day’s Bible story.

Children are supervised throughout by leaders who have been trained and DBS checked in accordance with our safeguarding policy.

Mid-Week Groups

On Tuesday afternoons from 4-5pm, we have 3 after school clubs.

Pioneers is for school years 3-6). Discoverers is for Years 1-2 with Mini-D’s for children aged 3 until the end of Reception year.

The groups are fun places for the children to look at a Bible story together and learn more about who Jesus is and what he came to do.  There will also be games, crafts and other activities.  Entry is £1 per child.

Children are supervised throughout by leaders who have been trained and checked in accordance with our safeguarding policy.

Alongside this is a free café for parents with tea, coffee and cakes/biscuits.  We also have an area with toys for younger children at the café.
